Guess what. I was wrong. My class didn't give me a card, no!
The whole school did.
"Guys, really," I said as I got the five biggest cards I've ever seen. "You shouldn't have. Really."
Caitlyn shot me an evil grin. I stuck my tongue out at her. She gave me a look, like Oh real mature, Lauren. So I stuck my tongue out again. She rolled her eyes.
"Well, since we thought that you were moving to Pennsylvania, we just wanted to say 'good bye' in the best way possible," the principal, Mr. Caterina, told me.
So what, a simple "good bye" isn't good enough? I thought.
Yes, I was moving to Pennsylvania. For the hospitals, man. Great hospitals, lotsa happy Valium! Heh, heh.
"We're gonna miss you, Lauren!" Tammy said, giving me a hug.
"Aw, it's not like I'm never coming back!" I said. "I don't know when, but I am coming back!"
"Good, 'cause, uh, Steven looks heartbroken over the fact of you moving," Caitlyn whispered.
"Why are you whispering?" I whispered back, "he's deaf."
"Habit," she said, still whispering. I shook my head.
"Good bye, Creekside!" I yelled walking out. "and good bye Texas," I muttered under my breath. I caught Steven's eye and gave him a smile and a wave. He returned it, and I couldn't help but start to cry. I turned around so they wouldn't see it, but I wasn't fast enough. He saw the tears and before I walked three feet, Steven came over and wrapped me in a hug. I heard Caitlyn and the girls cheering as I hugged him back.
After I pulled away and wiped away the fresh tears, I gave him one last smile and walked to the waiting car.
Mom and I arrived in Pennsylvania 2 hours and one insulin shot later. "So," she said casually, "you and Steven, huh?"
"Mom," I said, lightly shoving her.
"What?" she asked. "I saw that hug."
"Just for the record, he hugged me," I told her.
"Whatever you say," she said, holding up her hands. We stopped short when we saw the sign that said "Sands" on it. "Is that us?" I wondered out loud. Mom shrugged. "You never know till ya know," she said and walked up to him. "Are you looking for a Sharon and Lauren?" she asked.
"Why yes," the man said. He was big, like a body guard, African-American, and had the most richest voice - besides Elijah Kelley - that I have ever heard. "The limo is waiting for you outside," he continued, "if you ladies would follow me," and he started walking towards the doors.
"Limo?" I asked Mom, following him. She shrugged and did the same. "I know this sounds weird," I told her, "but he looks really familiar."
"Oh, by the way," he said, turning around, "I'm Big Rob."
My head nearly exploded. "Huh-huh," I said, my voice a few octaves higher. Mom looked at me. "Lauren you okay? You need a shot?"
Big Rob grinned at me. "I think she figured out where she recognizes me from."
"Huh-huh," I repeated, still high-pitched. BR laughed and continued leading us to the awaiting limo.
"Lauren, who is he?" Mom asked.
"He's the body guard to the Jonas Brothers!!!" I squealed in a whisper so other people wouldn't hear. Her jaw dropped. "What...?" she asked.
"The brothers heard about Lauren and decided to help," BR said, turning his head back.
"The Jonas Brothers are helping a simpleton like me?" I asked. "That's...so nice of them."
"They're nice people," he said.
"No doubt," Mom said.
When we exited, the brothers were waiting for us. I became as calm as possible and shook their hands. But you know that in my mind I was going nuts.
"Well, if we're good," Nick said, "we'll head over to the hospital. It's about time I had a check-up as well."
The whole school did.

I Have No Idea
Everything had been lost.
The war between the radical weeaboo political party and the rest of the world had ended in a catastrophe none of us could've anticipated.
I still remember that day, sitting at my desk, hands folded in prayer and frustration, asking if there was a God that he should spare us all right now. I remember the lowly foot soldier entering the room and saying "Sir, they have taken DC. They've taken it all."
It was then I knew that God had forsaken us.
That was five years ago. And now only a few of us remain. A few of us who refuse to take the new names the regime had given out. My name was Trey, not "Takeshi-san." My comr
